In 1930, King George V gave Edward a home, Fort Belvedere, near Sunningdale, England. There, Edward had relationships with a series of married women including half-British, half-American textile heiress Freda Dudley Ward, American film actress Mildred Harris, and Lady Furness (born Thelma Morgan), an American woman of part-Chilean ancestry, who introduced the Prince to fellow American Wallis Simpson (previously Wallis Spencer; born Bessie Wallis Warfield).
